A dramatic 182m tuff cone formed by underwater volcanic eruption — Seongsan Ilchulbong is one of Jeju's most iconic and photogenic landmarks.

Seongsan Ilchulbong (‘Castle Mountain Sunrise Peak’) is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage tuff cone that erupted from the sea roughly 100,000 years ago. The peak rises 182m above sea level with a vast crater (99,000m²) surrounded by 99 rocky pillars. The 20-minute climb rewards visitors with extraordinary sunrise panoramas. At the base, visitors can watch traditional haenyeo (women divers) perform live diving demonstrations. The surrounding coastal trail offers dramatic sea cliff views.
